Onye’s verdict: No more local coaches if Keshi fails

From their days as Green Eagles to Super Eagles, the national male football team have been tutored by several local coaches namely Adegboye Onigbinde, Paul Hamilton, Monday Sinclair, Christian Chukwu, Austin Eguavoen, Shaibu Amodu, Samson Siasia and currently Stephen Keshi.

Military orders evacuation on Plateau villages

Jos -The Special Task Force (STF) maintaining peace in Plateau has said that the evacuation order given to some communities in Barkin Ladi and Riyom local governments is based on `military necessity’.

The STF on Saturday ordered the inhabitants of five villages – Mahanga, Kakuruk, Kuzen, Maseh and Shong 2 to vacate their settlements in 48 hours, to give way for a “military operation’’.

The residents have given different interpretations to the order, with some alleging, that some specific groups were being targeted.

Apple to launch ‘iPad Mini’

Apple Inc.’s component suppliers in Asia are preparing for the mass production of a tablet computer with a smaller screen than the iPad. People familiar with the situation said, suggesting a launch for the device is near.

As results continue to trickle in, the Adams Oshiomhole, the candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) has continued to lead in the governorship election conducted on Saturday in Edo State.
According to the results available to P.M. NEWS, Governor Adams Oshiomhole of the ACN led in Oredo Ward 5 at the I.C.E. Unit 1 with 189 votes against PDP’s 23, and the All Nigeria Peoples Party’s 22.
