Wizkid, Sarkodie, Jay Z, Kanye West Win At 2012 BET Awards

Nigeria’s music artiste, Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has won an award as the Best International Act at the 2012 Black Entertainment Television (BET) awards held on Sunday night of July 1.

Wizkid won the prestigious awards with his Ghanaian counterpart, Sarkodie yesterday. The show was held The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, USA. It was hosted by veteran Hollywood actor, Samuel L Jackson.

Wizkid and Sarkodie won in the Best International Act (Africa) category. The two artistes have been tipped to win the awards before yesterday.

More facts have emerged about how Fuji music star, Sunday Tua Adesokan, aka Sunny T died.



P.M.NEWS learnt that Sunny T died at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria after a malaria attack.
The ‘Idan Amani’ crooner who performed at a show in Epe area, Lagos, on Friday night complained of fatigue and later slipped into a coma.



Another source close to the singer said he later regained consciousness with the hope that he would perform at other engagements lined up for Saturday.
“His sister told us that they spoke as early as 5 a.m. (Sunday) only to hear that he was behaving funny,” said the source.


He was said to have been rushed to LASUTH where he was confirmed dead.
Tunji Sarumi, Chairman, Sarolaj Records, Sunny T’s recording company, who was at the hospital when the singer died confirmed the death.
His remains have been deposited at the LASUTH mortuary awaiting autopsy.
Aged 44, Sunny T, popularly called ‘Omo nna to nko fuji’, shot to limelight with the release of a monster hit titled ‘Idan amani’, on Sarolaj Records and to date released about eight albums. His latest effort is called ‘Capable’.

LAGOS – Fresh facts emerged yesterday to corroborate Sunday Vanguard’s story of the alleged telephone conversation between Mr. Lawan Farouk, House of Representatives Committee Chairman on the management of subsidy funds, and Femi Otedola, Executive Chairman, Zenon Oil and Gas, in the unfolding $3 million bribery scandal.

Channels Television yesterday obtained the recorded audio conversation which transpired between both men as reported in the Sunday Vanguard edition of June 17, 2012.

Sunday Vanguard’s report had exclusively disclosed that Hon. Farouk, whether acting on premonition or instinct, decided against going to the airport to collect the alleged of $2.5m – having allegedly collected $500,000, earlier.
