Grandfather gets first class in UI

Ibadan – A grandfather, Mr Aderemi Alli, was among the 21 first class graduates produced by the University of Ibadan (UI) at its convocation on Thursday in Ibadan.

The university graduated a total of 1,582 students for the 2011/2012 academic session with 243 graduating in Second Class (Upper Division) and 920, Second Class (Lower Division). A total of 135 of the students graduated with Third Class and 203 Pass.

Oba of Benin pays royal visit to Oshiomhole

BENIN—IN a rare show of public appearance and support, the Benin monarch, Oba Erediauwa, yesterday, paid a visit to the governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, at Government House, Benin City.

The lying in state and viewing took place today Thursday November 15th at JH Kenyon, 83 westbourne grove W24UL, London. Her funeral service will hold today.

Indian doctors fly to Nigeria for polio surgeries

A team of 24 doctors and volunteers will soon fly from Mumbai on a 10-day mission to Abuja in Nigeria, one of the three countries where polio remains to be eradicated, to conduct surgeries to correct deformities arising from polio. The other two countries are Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Maiduguri—Joint Task Force, JTF, in Maiduguri, Borno State capital, yesterday, said it killed a Boko Haram Commander for the North-East and North-West of Maiduguri and his lieutenants, who allegedly killed General Mamman Shuwa three weeks ago.

Unidentified gunmen just after midnight today  attacked villagers  at Madauchi village in Zonkwa, Zango Kataf Local government of Kaduna state, in Nigeria’s northwest and killed seven  members of a family.

Nigerian Government Ranked Second Most Corrupt In The World - Gallup Poll

Gallup, in its first-ever report on “Global States of Mind: New Metrics for World Leaders.”, said 94 percent of Nigerians believe there is widespread corruption in government.

Zakari Biu released from detention after 9 months

According to the source, Pete Eneh died few moments ago at Park Lane hospital in Enugu.
